Gun salute to mark Armistice Day

Today, the Serbian Armed Forces Guard fired a 10-volley gun salute using six artillery weapons at the Kalemegdan Terrace to mark the World War I Armistice Day. The gun salute was fired under orders by the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces Aleksandar Vučić.
The gun salute ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Miloš Vučević, Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović and Guard Commander, Brigadier General Nikola Dejanović.
The representative Guard Orchestra played the national anthem “God of Justice” as the flag of the Republic of Serbia was being raised.
Serbia has celebrated the Armistice Day as a national holiday since 2012 in commemoration of November 11, 1918, when the Allied Powers signed an armistice with Germany, thus ending the First World War.
