Meeting between Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and KFOR Commander
Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, spoke with the KFOR Commander, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, in Belgrade today.
The meeting discussed the current security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities undertaken to preserve peace and improve security situation in our southern province.
In his conversation with the newly appointed KFOR Commander, General Mojsilović emphasized that, according to the UNSCR 1244 and all signed agreements, KFOR was the only legitimate security actor in the province and that it was therefore obliged to be the first to react in the event of a breach of security in Kosovo and Metohija. He said that unilateral moves made by the temporary Pristina institutions did not help ameliorate the situation in the field. He also expressed his concern about certain KFOR contributing nations providing assistance to Pristina in building the so-called Kosovo Security Force.
Chief of the General Staff congratulated General Ristuccia on his appointment as KFOR Commander, the role he has performed since mid-October, and expressed his hope that the professional cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR would continue during his term.
