Bilateral Defence Consultations with Federal Republic of Germany



A delegation from the International Military Cooperation Department, Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, led by its head, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, has visited the Federal Republic of Germany. The purpose of the visit was to hold Bilateral Defence Consultations with representatives of the International Cooperation Department of the Federal Defence Forces of Germany.
  During the talks held in Berlin, they analyzed the defence cooperation so far and discussed proposals for bilateral military cooperation activities in 2023.

Colonel Svjetlica noted that defence cooperation with Germany was developed and diverse and expressed his expectation that it would be improved in the future, to the mutual benefit of both countries. He reported that during the visit of Federal Minister of Defence of Germany, Christine Lambrecht, to Belgrade in May 2022, it had been confirmed that both sides were determined to significantly contribute to the strengthening of defence and overall relations between the two countries.

At the meeting, it was noted that the number of bilateral activities undertaken had increased compared to the previous year, particularly in the area of defence policy.

The interlocutors agreed that there were mutual aspirations towards further improvement in the quality of defence cooperation. They also agreed that the proposed forms of cooperation in the coming period would help strengthen the relationship between the two ministries and militaries in the best way.
