Minister of Defence Extends Greetings on Third Army Brigade Day
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, extended a greeting message on the occasion of 7th October - Day of the Third Army Brigade which reads:
“I send my best greetings to all members of the Third Army Brigade on 7th October - Day of the Brigade.
On this day in the First Balkan War, the Second Infantry Regiment “Prince Mihailo” of Morava Division of the first call headed for battle. The courage of its members was inexhaustible. The battles of Kumanovo, Prilep, Bregalnica, Cer, Kolubara and many other battles of the Balkan wars and the First World War, that signed this regiment in the glorisous history. The most decorated of all regiments of the Serbian Army, got its epithet the “Iron Regiment” from the enemy, and it is precisely its Commander Milivoje Stojanović that the “March on the Drina River” was dedicated to.
As worthy followers and guardians of that bright tradition, you have been confirming your love for Serbia tirelessly and resolutely executing your daily tasks. In the years behind us, you have shown that you are characterised by a high level of operational capabilities, and that you are ready to protect our fatherland at any moment. At the same time, you have been unreservedly at disposal to our people wherever and whenever it required assistance.
There is no country that would not be proud of the unit such is our Third Brigade, and Serbia is proud of you. We are not showing our gratitude only with words. We will continue investing both in your equipment, materiel, and the standard of living for you and your families. Wishing that you continue successfully performing all your tasks, I offer my best regards for your holiday”.
