Statement by Assistant Minister for Human Resources Katarina Tomašević
Statement by Assistant Minister for Human Resources Katarina Tomašević:
“Today’s statements of the Military Trade Union, which certain media published without verifying them beforehand, that “about 80 percent of professional service members have expired military ID cards” are absolutely false.
Utterly devoid of a sense of belonging to the military or responsibility for telling lies in public, the leaders of the Military Trade Union fill the airtime with unfounded claims with the sole aim of ruining the reputation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
The issuance of new and replacement of old military ID cards at the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces is a continuous process that takes place in accordance with determined priorities, which means that the persons who work with certain electronic services and use their ID cards daily, receive them first. As regards other members of the defence system, whose official military ID cards have expired, this fact will not pose an obstacle or hindrance to them in performing their duties or claiming their entitlements until new documents are issued.
The Military Trade Union's texts about the alleged lack of firewood and ammunition are also false and rather malicious. We would like to point out that the SAF’s logistics support system functions normally and that military units, commands and establishments are supplied with sufficient amounts of food, firewood, weapons and military equipment”.
