Visit from US SOCEUR Commander



Chief of General Staff of Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilović talked to Commander of US Special Operations Command Europe Major General Steven Edwards.
At the meeting, the interlocutors spoke about the security situation in the region, and cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and US Armed Forces, with special reference to the possibilities for the enhancement of cooperation between special operations units.

The interlocutors agreed that the cooperation has been successful so far, as well as mutually beneficial; stressing that its greatest quality lies in the fact that it is founded on the conduct of joint activities in the field of training and exercises. The most concrete form of special forces cooperation is the joint combined training which was initially organised and carried out with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, only to become a joint activity of the Serbian Armed Forces and US EUCOM in 2020.
Major General, Steven Edwards is staying in our country in order to attend the commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of the operation “Halyard”, which will take place tomorrow in Pranjani near Gornji Milanovac, with the presence of a delegation of the Serbian Armed Forces.
