Minister Stefanović: mobility of infantry considerably improved owing to “Lazars“
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has said today that the results of the decision to increase the equipment of SAF units with equipment produced by the domestic industry are becoming more and more concrete. Military equipment and weapons designed and manufactured by our military institutes and defence industry factories have significantly contributed to the increase in the operational capabilities of our armed forces and all its branches, Stefanović said.
- In addition to increased equipment, constant training is equally important for the strengthening of any military, and it helps maintain and improve its ability to operate in all conditions. That's why our personnel serving in the Army infantry battalions are currently training with "Lazar 3" armoured fighting vehicles. These vehicles have significantly improved the mobility, firepower and protection of our infantry units in combat action, but it is also very important that our crews are regularly trained in using them effectively - said Minister Stefanović.
Collective training that infantry battalions are currently doing at the military training grounds aims to improve infantry officers’ and soldiers’ skills in the combat use of this vehicle. The crews are practicing tactical actions and procedures needed for the effective execution of tasks in Army operations and are preparing for the execution of exercises and live firings, which will be another opportunity to assess the results of the intensive training they undergo throughout the year.
