Minister Stefanović: We remember our heroes who entrusted us with a task of fighting for Serbia
On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the famous WW1 Battle of Mt. Cer, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has said that today is one of those days when we feel proud of the glorious battles and the great names of Serbian history, when we remember the great victories of our army and the names of all our immortal heroes who gave their lives for the homeland.
"The Battle of Mt. Cer ended on this day, on the great feast of the Transfiguration, with a heroic victory of the Serbian army. It was the first Allied victory of World War 1, the victory of the small and proud over the larger and more numerous," Minister Stefanović wrote on his Facebook page.It was the day, he said, when the love of the homeland and a great heart of a small, but proud, defiant and heroic nation wrote history.
- We will never forget it, and every time we hear the first beats of the famous "March on the Drina", a composition that fills every Serb's heart with pride and happiness, we will remember our heroes and heroines who laid down their lives for their homeland, without regret or turning back, entrusting us with the task of fighting for Serbia. Your deeds are immortal! Glory to the heroes!", wrote Minister Stefanović.
