Reaction by Bojana Jelovac, Media Adviser to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD:
"Minister Stefanović has never flown to the Homolje Mountains by any helicopter owned by the Serbian Armed Forces, particularly not to go to a private lunch and outing. He has never been extravagant and everyone who has ever met him, even only briefly, knows that. On the other hand, the "Objektiv" newspaper is wildly extravagant in spreading continuous, blatant lies about Defence Minister Nebojša Stefanović. And today's lie, like all the previous ones, is not at all difficult to expose.
First of all, the minister's private flight on an H-145M military helicopter that "Objektiv" writes about - did not happen. The Air Force says very clearly that they have never transported him for private purposes. Moreover, they have never transported him either by an H-145 or by any other helicopter owned by the Serbian Armed Forces to the Homolje Mountains. Also, the Serbian Armed Forces’ flights are reported to the air traffic control of this country, which is an easily verifiable fact, but the "Objektiv" is not interested in facts and truth.
Not only did Minister Stefanović not travel to the Homolje Mountains by a military helicopter, but he has not been to that area either for private or official purposes for a very long time. Since he was not in Homolje, it is quite clear that he was not splashing out on some farm and in luxury villas on the slopes of the Homolje Mountains, as "Objektiv" shamelessly claims. I call on "Objektiv" to disclose the exact day the minister was allegedly in these mountains, because he is a protected person and it is known exactly where he is on which day, and there are always numerous witnesses for that. But the newspaper is certainly not interested in the truth.
Instead of publishing easily verifiable facts, they have published two photographs to better illustrate their lies and completely deceive their readers. On one of the photos, taken on July 26, 2021, Minister Stefanović is indeed in an H-145M military helicopter, travelling with the Ministry of Defence delegation to pay an official visit to the Serbian people in the Bosnian municipality of Drvar. He gladly accepted the invitation to join them in celebrating the Municipality Day. The second photo showing Minister Stefanović is a private photo taken at Lake Perućac, where he travelled by car and was seen by at least 50 people. Both photos were posted by the Minister of Defence on his social media profiles.
It is no secret that he loves the Serbian people living across the Drina River, and that he loves Serbia, which is a beautiful country. It is no secret that the tycoons who own the "Objektiv" do not understand that, because all tycoons are extravagant, and when they are panicking about facing the law, they become wildly extravagant in spreading lies."
