Soldiers serving in artillery missile units undergo training
The routine training for soldiers who have been performing their military service as of March this year in the Mixed Artillery Battalion, Mixed Artillery Brigade, is currently underway at the peacetime locations in the vicinity of Niš.
After successfully completing their individual training, soldiers, alongside professional service members, are being trained for the combat use of 128 mm M-94 "Plamen-S" and 262 mm M-87 "Orkan“ self-propelled multiple-rocket launchers.
In order to learn how to use the missile systems effectively, soldiers complete the entire training programme as part of the crew, from carrying out reconnaissance and taking up the position, to shifting the weapon to the combat position, gun-laying, activities undertaken by the crew after issuing a fire order, to taking up the next firing position.
Simultaneously with the training for soldiers who are performing their military service, additional training for professional soldiers who have recently started their career in the Serbian Armed Forces as artillery missile systems operators is being conducted.
The training for soldiers who are serving in the Mixed Artillery Brigade lasts for three months. During that period, they are trained to carry out collective tasks and actively participate in the life and work of the unit, and many of them will start their career as professional soldiers in this brigade.
