Minister Stefanović: We must proudly preserve the memory of Petar Bojović
Today, on the occasion of the 164th anniversary of the birth of the famous Serbian military leader Petar Bojović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, said that our nation must always proudly preserve the memory of its heroes, who had done so much for Serbia in the most important moments in its history.
"He spent 46 years in the military, took part in six wars, led the army and was a military strategist who won some of the greatest battles in Serbian history. Historians have written that he was a military leader who never abandoned his soldiers, that he was devoted to his family, strict with everyone, but most strict with himself. For him, our homeland was sacred, and its freedom was a legacy. We owe it to him not to forget his military skills and merits for providing us with a free and independent country we live in today. Let his deeds be our guide in preserving our only homeland today," said Minister Stefanović.
