Regular Training of Army Scouts
Within regular summer training of the Army reconnaissance units, soldiers-scouts are undergoing close combat training, during which they master skills in hand-to-hand combat and knife throwing.
The aim is to train the soldiers to maintain composure in a real conflict, and react the way they have been trained and end the fight to their advantage, all of them being the skills of great importance while executing tasks deep behind the enemy dispositions.
During the training the scouts raise the level of their overall physical preparedness, they develop self-confidence and they are familiarised with all the situations that they may encounter during the execution of tasks in close contact with the enemy.
The programme encompasses fighting using arms and legs in standing position, use of cold weapon, fighting on the floor, disarming and neutralisation of an opponent, and protection of one owns life and the lives of his fellow soldiers.
The training of reconnaissance units is demanding and it is carried out throughout the year. In the upcoming period, the scouts will be faced with the training in overcoming water obstacles and solving tactical tasks in different environments, and the wilderness survival training.
