Serbian Armed Forces Assist Local Population of Sjenica Municipality
Starting from this week, members of the Army engineer units, in cooperation with the municipality of Sjenica, are carrying out works on providing technical water in the villages of Pešter high plain: Buđevo, Doliće, Raždaginja and Crvsko.
The activity is being carried out as a civil-military cooperation project of the Serbian Armed Forces, aimed at creating conditions for the villagers to provide water for their cattle, which presented a serious problem over the previous years because of severe droughts which affected this part of the country.
For the purpose of executing this task, the Serbian Armed Forces have deployed an engineer working group which, using appropriate machines, excavates new waterholes and clears and cleans the existing waterholes for the cattle.
The engineers of the Serbian Armed Forces are well received by the local population, who express their gratitude for the rendered assistance and dedicated work, and they stress that such activities contribute to the citizens’ perception of the Serbian Armed Forces as a strong power, on which they can rely any time they require help the most.
The Serbian Armed Forces have assisted the inhabitants of the villages of the Pešter high plain in the past, and in other parts of our country. They have assisted many times in building roads and waterworks, clearing snow drifts, providing water supply and health care to local population, and they will continue this practice in the future for the purpose of strengthening mutual confidence and creating conditions for a better life of the citizens of Serbia.
