Minister Stefanović: Vidovdan is the heart and soul of the Serbian people
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD, congratulated the great holiday – Vidovdan to all members of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces.
“On this day, back in 1389, the famous Battle of Kosovo took place in Kosovo Polje, which to a great extent defined the path of the Serbian state. Fighting to preserve their state and freedom, the Serbs stood to defend their fatherland for the nth time.
The Battle of Kosovo is interwoven with the very being of every Serb, and even today, the generations of our children are growing up treasuring in their hearts the vow inherited from previous generations. Vidovdan is the heart and soul of the Serbian people. It is the very essence of our national identity, and it will live as long as the memory shall live of the heroes of Kosovo.
It is our duty, protecting the vow of our forefathers, to bequeath a better Serbia to our descendants – Serbia that is economically, militarily and culturally stronger and more advanced. It is the only way in which our ancestors will not be ashamed of us, and our descendants will not forget us.
