Specialist training for soldiers serving in armoured units
Soldiers performing their military service in armoured units (class of March 2022) are undergoing the final training stage for tankers and infantry armoured fighting vehicle crews.
Due to the complexity of specialist training for soldiers performing their voluntary military service, this stage lasts for ten weeks.
They are being trained as M-84 tank and M-80A infantry fighting vehicle gunners and drivers at the Army Training Centre in Požarevac. Before they switched to combat equipment, they had undergone training using simulators, which are used to train individuals and crews to perform fire and tactical missions in all conditions.
Once they complete the next training stage, including range practice and live firing using branch-specific weapons and learning to drive combat vehicles off road, the soldiers will be fully trained to perform tank and infantry fighting vehicle crew duties.
At the end of their specialist training, soldiers’ ability to perform tasks as part of crews and teams will be evaluated. Afterwards, they will undergo training in execution of collective tasks and actively engage in the life and work of SAF units until the end of their military service.
