Minister Stefanović at opening ceremony for International Defence and Security Exhibition "EUROSATORY 2022"
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, who is paying an official visit to France, has attended the opening ceremony for the International Defence and Security Exhibition "EUROSATORY 2022". The exhibition was opened today by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Minister Stefanović has also visited the display stands of Serbian companies "Yugoimport-SDPR" and "PRDC", and the displays of the world's leading companies, such as “Airbus", "Thales Group" and "Safran Electronics & Defense.
- The "Eurosatory" exhibition in Paris is an opportunity for our defence industry to show what Serbia can do today and how it keeps pace with the modern world. It is very important for us that artificial intelligence, robotics, drones and unmanned vehicles, which follow these modern trends, are something that will be developed by our domestic industry. We will demonstrate at our companies’ stands our achievements so far, but also our plans for the future - said Minister Stefanović.
He expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to hear what the President of France Macron and the leadership of the French Armed Forces had to say about these areas.
- I will also have the opportunity to talk to the Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu about our bilateral cooperation, and it is important for Serbia to understand the current trends in defence industry, the industrial capabilities that need to be achieved and the areas that will mark the development of the military in the next 10, 20 or 30 years. It is important for us to be able to rely on domestic industry and not depend on anyone from the outside. I am glad to see that our country has something to be proud of and something to compete with in these areas - said Minister Stefanović.
This year's defence and security exhibition in Paris, which is being held after a four-year break, has gathered more than 1,800 exhibitors and delegations from 94 countries.
