Youngest MiG-29 pilots undergo flight training
Routine flight training for the youngest MiG-29 pilots is underway at the "Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović" Military Airfield in Batajnica, in the vicinity of Belgrade.
In addition to training for regular assignments such as air interception and airspace control, they are being trained to execute flight missions at high altitudes and to pilot aircraft carrying heavy payloads with fuel tanks suspended underneath the fuselage and wings in order for the aircraft to stay in the air as long as possible.
Day and night flight missions are executed in both favourable and complex weather conditions, which helps maintain and improve the pilots’ flying proficiency and the unit’s operational capabilitiess.
The MiG-29 is a multi-purpose combat aircraft capable of engaging ground and aerial targets, and is part of the armament of 101st Fighter Aviation Squadron.
