Routine night parachute training
Last night, members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade conducted some segments of night parachute training in the vicinity of “Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović“ military airfield in Niš.
The purpose of this routine training is to maintain professional personnel’s high level of competence for carrying out special operations and operations of special importance.
Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, observed the training activities undertaken at the military airfield in Niš, and confirmed that members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade were absolutely dedicated, responsible, and highly motivated for their training, which results in the successful execution of all their tasks, professional personnel’s high level of training and the unit’s combat readiness.
As part of their training, the paratroopers performed parachute jumps from An-26 aircraft, using modern assault parachutes which allow for easier manoeuvring in order to avoid obstacles and landing on the desired landing area, which is critical for quickly starting combat action in the enemy depth after parachute landing.
Complex training in all weather conditions and on all types of terrain is conducted throughout the year, thus making sure that members of this elite SAF brigade are ready at all times to carry out a wide range of assignments, individually or in cooperation with other forces.
