Fire mock drill
In an effort to improve safety and reduce the risk of fire outbreak at high temperatures, the Serbian Armed Forces undertake thorough fire prevention and protection measures as part of the units’ overall summer preparations.
For such purposes, SAF units have organized fire mock drills in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior fire and rescue brigades, aiming to refresh their theoretical and practical knowledge of fire protection, preventive measures and use of fire-fighting equipment.It was a show of actions undertaken and procedures followed while extinguishing different types of fire, using standard and improvised equipment, from issuing a fire alert, performing fire teams’ actions, administering first aid and CASEVAC, down to joint engagement with the local unit responsible for fire and rescue.
Fire prevention measures in SAF are raised to the highest level in the summer period, and conducting such drills leads to the improvement of professional members’ ability to respond in a timely and efficient manner in case of fire, so as to protect the personnel, mobile and stationary property.
