Children from Kosovo and Metohija visit Kruševac Garrison
A group of children from Kosovo and Metohija have visited today the Memorial Room dedicated to the Rasina and 125th Motorized Brigade at the Car Lazar Barracks in Kruševac, and the memorial to members of this heroic unit.
Children from the Serbian enclaves, the villages of Banje and Suvo Grlo, where the 125th Motorized Brigade was deployed in 1999, were told about the history of the famous unit by Lieutenant Colonel Goran Marković, Acting Commander of the Kruševac Garrison. He said that it was always an honour to welcome children from Serbia’s southern province.
- We are happy to show them all common values, especially the heroic feats achieved in the battles in 1998 and 1999, said Lieutenant Colonel Marković, adding that the Serbian Armed Forces would always be happy to welcome children from Kosovo and Metohija.
During their visit to the Car Lazar Barracks, the guests took photos next to the T-55 tank, no. 20214, which played a crucial role in the Battle of Košare on May 10 and 11, 1999, in an effort to prevent terrorist forces from penetrating the village of Junik and their advancement towards Metohija.
Today's visit ended with a joint lunch at the soldiers’ mess, so that the children could experience for a moment the life and work of members of the Serbian Armed Forces.
