Soldiers serving in Engineer Corps undergo river training
Soldiers performing their military service in the Engineer Corps as of March 2022 have done stationary camp on the Sava River near Šabac, following a specialized training which lasted for several weeks and was conducted on the Army Training Centre’s training grounds and exercise areas.
Over the past two weeks, soldiers have been trained in overcoming water obstacles and performing the roles of amphibious transporter, pontoon bridge and tugboat crews on a temporary training ground on the Sava River.
Soldiers were able to check and utilize their knowledge of the characteristics of water obstacles and ways to overcome them, and execute drills which involved crossing the river by branch-specific and improvised vessels.
Stationary camp is another segment of specialized training for this class of soldiers performing their military service. The training finishes next week with an evaluation of their ability to execute specific tasks independently. Afterwards, soldiers will undergo collective training and be actively involved in performing SAF units’ daily assignments until the end of their military service.
