New hangar for aircraft storage at military airfield in Batajnica
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited today a newly constructed hangar for aircraft storage at the “Colonel-Pilot Milenko Pavlović” Military Airfield in Batajnica. According to the Minister, this is the result of continued investment and today we are able to continue investing in our armed forces thanks to the clever and responsible policy pursued by President Vučić.
- We started building this large hangar at the airfield in Batajnica in March last year and I am glad that it has been completely finished and put into operation in a little over a year. It is a significant infrastructure facility at our most important military airfield, comprising over 3000 m² of space, including workshops, where our combat assets and aircraft that the Air Force considers the best, will be stored.
He thanked all Air Force and Air Defence members for their ceaseless struggle for Serbia.
- I would like to thank all these people once again for not giving up and for their daily efforts to protect the sky of our country and preserve everything we have, even in the times when the state could not do so and when we lagged behind dramatically, when we could not imagine having hangars like this and when our aircraft could not even fly - said Minister Stefanović.
The Minister of Defence said that we would continue to invest in the Air Force and the armed forces.
- Thanks to the good, clever and responsible policy pursued by President Vučić and the government, today we are able to continue investing in our armed forces, and we are doing just that. In addition to this hangar, we are building two new hangars at the airfield in Lađevci, and we will continue our investment in this airport next year. Of course, General Žarković always has new requests and I am glad that he is ambitious, because it shows his love for the Air Force and our armed forces. And we will do our best, Colonel Starčević and the whole team at the Ministry, to complete all the ongoing projects, as we have promised, so that our service personnel can see how much we value them, how much we respect them and how much the state can invest in them - said Minister Stefanović.
