In memory of Mihailo Mika Markovic, MD
In the MA hall of the MA board of professors a conference dedicated to Colonel Mihailo Mika Markovic, MD, a doctor and warrior, was held today in the organization of the Serbian Medical Society and the Military Medical Academy.The main speaker was professor Major General Miodrag Jevtic, PhD, Head of MMA who spoke of this strategic man and tactician of the Serbian military medical service along with academician Brana Dimitirijevic, PhD, professor and Elizabeta Ristanovic, PhD, Vladimir Jokanovic, MD and Jelena Jovanovic-Simic MD.
Doctor Mihailo Markovic (1848-1911), an officer of the Serbian army, finished his medical studies in Vienna, and having attained great experience and capabilities, was appointed as the Head of the Military hospital in Nis where he introduced a number of novelties. He is one of those who made the opening of Paster’s Institute possible.
