Congratulatory Message of Minister Stefanović on the Occasion of Serbian Armed Forces Day
On the occasion of 23rd April – Serbian Armed Forces Day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD extended congratulatory message to members of the Serbian Armed Forces which reads:
“I congratulate 23rd April – Serbian Armed Forces Day to all their members.
On this day, more than two centuries ago, our forefathers rose in the fight for independence and freedom. Takovo is where the birth of modern Serbian state started, but it was also the birth of modern Serbian military which sprang from the people. Those ties have remained unbreakable until this very day.
From the first soldiers who proudly marched until the present, the years that passed brought changes, but the Serbian soldiers remained the same – dedicated to the preservation of peaceful sleep of their people. Honour, fearlessness and unlimited love for the fatherland are the heritage inherited from the ancestors and the legacy which they will leave to their descendants. The preservation of independent, autonomous and free Serbia is their greatest sanctity.
Dear members of the Serbian Armed Forces,
I am proud of you, because, in the year behind us, each of you selflessly worked hard on your tasks in order to preserve our fatherland and to give your contribution to its progress. I am all the more proud because in the previous year, with great support of President Aleksandar Vučić, we were able to invest in you even more, knowing that investing in you is the investment in peace and stability of our country.
I cordially congratulate this holiday to you, wishing that your remain as much persistent and stout-hearted, because our country and its citizens are counting on your!”
