Off-road vehicle training
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces are currently undergoing the “Humvee” driver training (High-Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles) at the “Beranovac” Training Ground near Kraljevo.
This additional training for military drivers serving in the units equipped with these vehicles, aims to maintain SAF members’ off-road driving and repair skills at an optimum level.
The training includes theoretical instruction focusing on subsystem exploitation and maintenance followed by an intensive training in driving the vehicles on public roads and off-road driving. The most demanding part of the training includes doing a specially designed obstacle course where military drivers acquire skills required for driving across an impassable terrain testing the driver’s skills and vehicle’s technical performance.Additional training for drivers of different types of vehicles is conducted routinely in the SAF making sure that they are well-trained to drive safely and maintain as many vehicles as possible according to the highest standards, which is very important for SAF members’ safety while carrying out their assignments on all types of terrain and in all weather conditions.
