Minister Stefanović: “Karaburma“ Military Hospital will soon get a multislice CT scan
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited today the "Karaburma" Military Covid Hospital, which, he announced, will soon get a new multislice CT scan. Stefanović thanked the employees for having worked tirelessly since the beginning of the Covid pandemic and noted that 46 patients are still fighting for their health.
- I am glad to see all our doctors and medical staff, who have been working tirelessly since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, in good spirits. These people have not broken in spirit; on the contrary, they are full of enthusiasm and energy and are doing their best to put Covid behind us in the true sense of the word. Today, there are 46 patients in the "Karaburma" Military Hospital, seriously ill patients who need constant intensive care. We hope that the number will drop, it has dropped significantly compared to the epidemic peak, but it warns us that we need to be constantly vigilant - said Minister Stefanović.
This military hospital has been treating Covid patients for two years now, and since the beginning of April 2020, when the first patient was admitted, more than 4,200 patients have received care there. Today, Minister Stefanović has also visited the part of the building where adaptation work is being finalized to fit in the multislice CT scan, which will improve the quality and efficiency of health care.
- We expect a multislice CT scan, donated by the United States, to arrive soon. It will be a significant help in diagnosing Covid, but it will remain extremely useful once Covid is behind us. Namely, one of our goals is for the “Karaburma” Military Hospital to become a general hospital in the future. As secondary health care facility, it will help all patients and thus facilitate the work of the Military Medical Academy as a tertiary health care institution. I would like to express my deep gratitude to Dr. Udovičić and his entire team for everything they have done and continue to do, and we will do everything we can to facilitate their work - said Minister Stefanović.
During today's visit, the Minister of Defence presented gifts to the "Karaburma" Military Hospital medical staff as a token of gratitude for their effort and commitment to providing care and treatment to patients.
