Minister of National Defence of Republic of Angola pays visit to Serbia



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has talked today to the Angolan Minister of National Defence and Veterans of the Fatherland, João Ernesto dos Santos, about improving defence cooperation between the two countries. According to him, Minister dos Santos’s second visit to Serbia in less than a year speaks volumes about the friendship that has linked our countries for decades, despite the geographical distance separating us.
  Minister Stefanović pointed out that the visit from the Angolan high-level state and military delegation to our country was very important for the development of overall bilateral relations, particularly in defence, i.e. in military to military, military educational and military medical cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of regular session of the Joint Serbia-Angola Committee for Defence Cooperation, which contributes to the improvement of relations and helps Serbian companies get into the Angolan market.
 
Minister Stefanović thanked the Republic of Angola for its unswerving support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
  Minister dos Santos thanked Minister Stefanović for the warm welcome and expressed his country's commitment to further strengthening defence cooperation. According to him, the Republic of Angola holds ​​friendly relations with the Republic of Serbia in high esteem and the results reached so far through the partnership between the two ministries and future joint projects will contribute to the development of overall bilateral relations.

Earlier today, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tete António, and Minister of National Defence, dos Santos, with whom he discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, defence and agriculture. Minister Stefanović also attended the meeting at Andrićev venac.
