Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović has also attended the meeting.
President Vučić emphasized our deep appreciation of Angola's support for Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"Serbia is fully committed to finding a long-term, lasting and sustainable solution to the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, fully adhering to basic principles of international law," said President Vučić.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Tete António reiterated that Angola's position of principle regarding Serbia's sovereignty will not change. He expressed satisfaction with Serbia's progress and stressed the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
"After gaining independence, Angola's first diplomats were educated in Serbia. We will sign a document abolishing visas between Serbia and Angola for individuals holding diplomatic and service passports, and several bilateral documents, including the Memorandum of Understanding between chambers of commerce and the Memorandum of Understanding between diplomatic academies," said Minister António.
The officials also discussed the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. President Vučić said that there was considerable interest among Serbian companies in returning to the Angolan market. In this regard, Minister Antonio invited Serbian investors to invest in the food industry, particularly in the production and processing of coffee, so that Angola would again be the fourth largest producer in the world.
In his conversation with the Angolan ministers, President Vučić emphasized great potential for improving cooperation in the fields of defence and security and added that the Republic of Angola was the strategic partner of our country and an important and promising market for Serbia's defence industry.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tete António, gave President Vučić a letter from the President of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, who thanked President Vučić for the Order of the Republic of Serbia and announced his visit to Serbia after the elections in Angola in August this year. President Vučić said that it would be his honour to host the President of Angola in Serbia, which would be an opportunity for detailed negotiations on further development of relations between the two countries.
