Minister Stefanović visits Dog Training Centre in Niš

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has visited the Dog Training Centre in the “Knjaz Mihailo” barracks in Niš today.
The Centre commander, Lieutenant Colonel Zdenko Cvijetić briefed the Minister about the activities of this unit, whose main responsibilities include veterinary service personnel training and dog training, re-training and breeding. Ministar Stefanović attended the demonstration of skills shown by working dogs in various tactical situations – doing an obstacle course, defence and attack drills and finding explosive ordnance.
On his visit to the Dog Training Centre, the Minister was accompanied by the Head of the Defence Minister’s Office, Colonel Stevan Kotarlić.

The Dog Training Centre was created in September 2020 out of the Logistics Training Centre’s Company for Dog Handler Training and Dog Training and Breeding. This unit continues the traditions of the Federal Secretariat of National Defence 40th Dog Handler and Dog Training Centre, which was established on October 21, 1957.
