River Flotilla pontonier units undergo regular training
The members of the River Flotilla First Pontonier Battalion have conducted regular training at the "Mačva Partisan Detachment" barracks and on the Sava River near Šabac.
During the training, which lasted for several days, amphibious units practiced tactical actions and procedures used when overcoming a water obstacle at the established crossing point.Soldiers practiced safe and proper loading of equipment on amphibious transporters, handling vehicle failures and malfunctions and navigating the transporter in various conditions, using camouflage and immediate unit protection. As part of the training, the amphibious transporter crewmembers’ skills in carrying out the unit’s tasks were tested and evaluated.
The results achieved during the training and evaluation show that the members of the River Flotilla First Pontonier Battalion are fully trained to provide support to the Army combat units in operations carried out on inland waterways.
