International course in biological weapons and toxicology

This week, an international course in biological weapons and toxicology was held at the CBRN Centre in Kruševac. It was attended by members of the Serbian Armed Forces and members of the armed forces from eight other countries.
During the five-day course, course participants from the armed forces of Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, United States, Slovenia and Serbia broadened their knowledge of biological weapons and toxicology and were trained to detect, indentify and implement protection measures against the effects of this type of weapons.

A laboratory was set up for the course to be held in, where course participants practiced using military equipment for the identification of biological agents, sampling and application of protective agents and agents for the decontamination of people and equipment.
The training and lectures were delivered by the CBRN Centre certified instructors, toxicology experts from the Military Medical Academy and visiting lecturers from the Kruševac General Hospital and the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Science.

Effective course delivery and great international interest in the training held at the CBRN Centre further improve the status of this unit as a regional and partner education and training centre and confirm the excellent quality of CBRN defence training conducted in the Serbian Armed Forces.
