Visit to Serbian airspace control and protection forces



Today, the Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, General Milan Mojsilović, and the Air Force and Air Defence Commander, Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, visited part of the permanently deployed troops responsible for the control and protection of the airspace of the Republic of Serbia.  During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff gained an insight into the organization of the command over the deployed forces and personally made sure that the Air Force and Air Defence units are capable of detecting, monitoring and neutralizing ground and air targets in all weather conditions, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

On this occasion, General Mojsilović was presented with the new capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces gained through the introduction of armed remotely piloted aircraft, and there was also talk about the activities undertaken to improve the manning, deployment and operational work in units and plans for arming the units with these weapons in the future.

After the briefings given by experts in this field, the Chief of the General Staff offered guidelines for further development of the capabilities of the Air Force and Air Defence and expressed satisfaction with the capability of this Serbian Armed Forces service for carrying out key tasks in peacetime and in war.
