CBRN units’ training
The 246th CBRN Battalion is undergoing regular training in providing protection against nuclear and chemical threats to Serbian Armed Forces units in the "Car Lazar" barracks and at the "Ravnjak" military complex in Kruševac.
This is an important segment of professional component’s collective training, which is carried out in order to fully prepare unit members for carrying out radiological, chemical and biological decontamination of soil, people, facilities, weapons and technical means.
The training uses modern insulating protective equipment and detection, dosimetry and decontamination equipment, the most important being the newly introduced domestically produced MPD09 mobile decontamination platform. Setting up an observation post, data collection and analytical processing and decontamination in the event of a nuclear or chemical accident are the main activities that members of the unit practice in this phase of training.
By conducting training for the professional component throughout the year, the 246th CBRN Battalion makes sure that its members maintain a high level of competence for providing CBRN protection in all three missions of the Serbian Armed Forces, and readiness to respond rapidly whenever needed.
