Training with Neva air defence missile systems
The 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade’s division, armed with Neva missile systems, is conducting regular training for the combat use of this weapon system.
Missile divisions conduct intensive training throughout the year in order to maintain and improve their ability to control and protect airspace, and all members of these units, from Neva system crews to rocket batteries’ technicians undergo the training process. In accordance with the units’ purpose, the crews are being trained for the combat use and basic maintenance of the missile systems, and special attention is paid to the tactical use of missile systems, so marching drills, emplacement, preparation for and execution of air target engagements are being practiced down to the last detail.
The rocket batteries’ maintenance staff, who have a key role in the maintenance of missiles and their preparation for combat use, are also actively involved in the training.
The Neva air defence missile system is intended for the destruction of air targets at low and medium altitudes, as well as targets on the ground and water that can be observed by radar.
