Fourth Army Brigade Day marked
A military ceremony marking the Fourth Army Brigade Day was held today at the “Miloš the Great's First Infantry Regiment” barracks in Vranje. The Fourth Army Brigade Day is celebrated in memory of January 31, 1878 when the Serbian army liberated Vranje.
In front of the Brigade members in formation, the past year’s work results were summed up and awards and recognitions were presented to the most deserving individuals. The review of the results achieved in 2021 highlighted the professionalism, commitment and competence of members of the Fourth Army Brigade in the execution of tasks, primarily along the administrative boundary with Kosovo and Metohija, which prove that they are guarantors of security in this part of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony was attended by the Army Commander, Lieutenant General Milosav Simović, the Mayor of Vranje Slobodan Milenković, the Bishop of Vranje Pahomije, and the commanders of other Army units.Today, members of the Fourth Army Brigade also celebrated the unit’s Patron Saint Day - St. Athanasius the Great, and on the occasion of Vranje Liberation Day, a delegation representing the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces led by Lieutenant General Milosav Simović laid a wreath at the monument to the 1878 liberators of Vranje.
