Minister Stefanović: Kurti obviously still dreams only of creating chaos
Statement of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD:
“The statement given by Albin Kurti that so-called armed forces of Kosovo are “a dream of generations that gave their lives for freedom” is yet another disturbing statement that cannot bring anything good to the Serbian people who live in Kosovo and Metohija, or the region itself. It once again shows that Kurti is preparing new destabilisation and that the stories about the readiness for the upcoming continuation of the dialogue are nothing but fool’s gold.
Today, when he mentions the generations that gave their lives for freedom, he perhaps refers to the freedom to kill, torture and banish the Serbian people from their ancient hearths, to burn and demolish Serbian holy places and desecrate Serbian graves. Maybe he refers to freedom to assault old women, women and children who are threatened in order to make them leave their houses and who were even burned alive in front of their homes? It is exactly what the world witnessed in previous times. While President Vučić pursues a responsible policy and makes efforts at negotiations in order to arrive at constructive solutions that make the life of the Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija better and easier, Kurti obviously still dreams of creating new chaos and destabilisation.
We call upon all international actors, and the European Union and member states of the United Nations Security Council to react to these efforts to destabilise not only our southern province but the entire region. We remind once again that the attempts at the creation of so-called armed forces of Kosovo conflict all international acts, and therefore make mockery of the entire international community.
Furthermore, we are confident that it is our duty to continue the dialogue, policy of peace and stabilisation. It is also our obligation to remember and never forget the suffering of the Serbian people. The Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija will definitely not live in fear, nor will we allow repeating the pogrom of 2004. We will die to protect them. President Aleksandar Vučić pursues the policy of the future, development and cooperation, and the policy which guarantees that we will never again allow the suffering and tears of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija”.
