Minister Stefanović visits Weapons and Military Equipment Testing Centre in Nikinci
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited the Nikinci Weapons and Military Equipment Testing Centre today. He said that intensive training, equipment procurement and modernization are very important for our armed forces, and that today we can be proud of what is being done in these fields. He pointed out that Serbian factories, the Technical Test Centre, the Military Technical Institute and the entire staff of the Material Resources Sector strive hard to ensure that new equipment, designed by the domestic intelligence and produced by our defence industry, enter service as soon as possible.
- Today we had the opportunity to see their work in the field. Even in this weather, there are no obstacles for these people to constantly perform test firings with weapons such as the modernized M-84 tank and the infantry fighting vehicle. We also saw the testing of domestically produced remote-controlled combat stations, 40 mm hand grenade launcher and the thermal imaging sight on our new modular rifle. Everything is working well and I am glad to hear that the Technical Test Centre personnel is satisfied, because it means that the armed forces will soon get high quality means and that we will have modern domestically produced weapons in our hands - said Minister Stefanović. He says that he is proud of all the people who worked every day in 2021 and did not complain about anything.
- They worked hard to provide our soldiers with modern rifles, which are part of domestic production, and to modernize our tanks and armoured personnel carriers. I thank them all once again and I hope they will continue to work with such enthusiasm and commitment, and that we will be proud of all the products of our domestic intelligence and domestic industry in the years to come - said Minister Stefanović. During today's visit, Minister Stefanović talked to members of the Nikinci Weapons and Military Equipment Testing Centre and the Military Technical Institute, who briefed him on the status of ongoing projects.
