Ambassador Botsan–Kharchenko presents Rostec’s medal to Minister Stefanović
Today, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko, presented the medal of the Russian Rostec State Corporation to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the development of the Russian-Serbian military-technical cooperation.
Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko said that he was deeply honoured to have the opportunity to present the decoration to Minister Stefanović.- You really deserve this decoration, because since you became the Minister of Defence, we have made several steps and made progress in the development of our military to military and particularly military-technical cooperation - said Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko.
Minister Stefanović thanked the Russian Ambassador and the Director of the Rostec State Corporation Alexandr Vosmirko, for this special honour.
- For me, this medal is another confirmation of strong friendship between Russia and Serbia and a symbol of our successful military-technical and other forms of cooperation. I am glad that, besides President Vučić, I was able to contribute to its progress, at least in part. All the systems that have arrived from the Russian Federation this year and that will arrive over the next few years confirm our close relations, but also show that our armed forces are being modernized - Minister Stefanović pointed out.He also thanked the Ambassador for helping the Cornet anti-tank systems to arrive in Serbia before the end of the year, as agreed by President Vučić and President Putin.
- This is very important for us, and these systems will help improve our armed forces’ capabilities. And I am really glad to see that everything we agreed on in terms of military-technical cooperation is going according to plan, which is very important for our soldiers and for Serbia in general. It is a great honour for me. Thank you once again for this recognition - said Minister Stefanović.
