Training in Elimination of Consequences of Industrial and Chemical Disasters
This week, members of Serbian Armed Forces were trained in the Logistics Training Centre in Niš in providing first aid after industrial and chemical accidents.
The attenders of the training were professional servicemen and civilians employed in the Serbian Armed Forces whose job does not imply dealing with emergency medical treatment, but they carry out specific tasks with increased risk of accidents.
The focus of the training was practical training in techniques and procedures applied when providing first aid, from initial assessment of the vulnerability of the injured, through triage, evacuation and treatment of injuries and burns.
Upon the completion of the training, attenders are fully trained to efficiently use organic and makeshift medical means during emergency treatment of the injured while being exposed to high temperatures, toxic fumes and gasses, and to apply techniques and procedures used to prevent further deterioration of the health of the injured and ill.
