Donation of Serbian Armed Forces to Orthodox School in Lebanon
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces deployed in the United Nations peacekeeping operation in Lebanon delivered a donation to an orthodox school in the town of Marjayoun in the south of that Middle Eastern country.
The school is located in the sector “East” of the peacekeeping operation, where an infantry company, staff officers and national support element of the Serbian Armed Forces perform their tasks.
The funds for the donation – video-projector and a tabled – were raised by the members of our 21st contingent in this peacekeeping mission, who have been engaged in this area of operation since May this year.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces started their participation in the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon on 21st December 2020, and in rather short time, owing to their professional and unbiased execution of peacekeeping tasks, gained the confidence and respect of all actors in the area of operation.
Apart from the infantry company, which performs its tasks within a Spanish battalion, staff officers and national support element in the sector “East”, in this mission, the Serbian Armed Forces have deployed a force protection platoon within an Italian contingent in the sector “West”.
