Minister Stefanović meets with Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with General Konstantinos Floros, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, who is on an official visit to Serbia. At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Stefanović said that the relations between our two countries and nations are traditionally good and that bilateral defence cooperation is highly developed on that sound basis. He thanked the Hellenic Republic for not recognizing the so-called Kosovo, and for the support it provides to us in NATO institutions, as a member of the Alliance, opposing the attempts of temporary Pristina institutions, primarily the so-called Kosovo Security Force, to participate in Partnership for Peace activities. According to Stefanović, as an EU member, Greece is an important partner country for us, given our commitment to EU integration, and cooperation between the two countries is strongly developed in the military to military segment, which significantly contributes to the development of our armed forces’ operational capabilities. General Floros pointed out that defence cooperation is at a high level and mainly focused on joint exercises conducted by special forces and other units, joint training for participation in multinational operations and professional development in the two countries’ educational centres. Among other things, he referred to "Falcon 21", the recently completed joint tactical special forces exercise, which was conducted on the training grounds in Greece.
