Meeting between Minister Stefanović and Bulgarian Ambassador

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, talked to the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria Petko Doykov about defence cooperation between the two countries. According to Minister Stefanović, the closest cooperation has been established in the military to military segment.
Minister Stefanović pointed out that joint live fire exercise at the Shabla firing range in Bulgaria and the traditional participation of members of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in the Platinum Wolf exercise in Serbia are excellent examples of knowledge and skills exchange between members of the two armed forces, which contribute to enhancing operational capabilities.  According to the Minister, the defence cooperation has been excellent so far, reflecting the overall relations between the two countries, but there is still room for improvement. Stefanović also thanked Bulgaria for the support it provides to Serbia in the EU integration process.  Ambassador Doykov pointed out that Bulgaria respects Serbia’s military neutrality and supports it on its path to the EU. Doykov agreed that defence cooperation between the two countries is at a high level and expressed hope that it will be improved over the next period.
