Ministry of Defence delegation at Dubai Air Show
A delegation representing the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Assistant Minister for Material Resources Nenad Miloradović, PhD and the Air Force and Air Defence Commander Lieutenant General Duško Žarković, visited the Dubai Air Show at the invitation of the UAE Ministry of Defence.
During the visit, a meeting was held with Major General Mubarak Saeed Al Jabri, Assistant Under-Secretary at the UAE Ministry of Defence, to discuss the progress of joint weapon system projects of interest to the UAE and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as new projects launched during the visit to the "Partner 2021" weapons and military equipment fair in Belgrade.
It was agreed to continue testing weapons in Serbia and the UAE. Also, the Serbian Defence Industry and Yugoimport SDPR’s existing contracts with "Tawazun" company, the acquisitions authority for the UAE Armed Forces, as well as further military-economic cooperation were discussed. The development of highly sophisticated weapons of interest to the armed forces of both countries was discussed with the government-owned company EDGE.
The Serbian Defence Industry and the Military Technical Institute have numerous development and education and training programs, the results of which make a substantial part of the weapons displayed at the EDGE Group’s stand at this fair. It is a conglomerate that comprises a large part of the country’s military industry with more than 25 companies cooperating with the key US, German, South African and other actors in the global market of advanced defence technologies.
