Meeting with representatives of Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Milica Ćatić talked today to civil servants representing the Joint Committee on Defence and Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who paid a visit to the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Serbia, as part of their study visit to Serbia.
The Bosnian delegation included Secretary Ljiljana Milićević and Advisor Željko Grubješić, and Samir Bašić from the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the meeting.
Representatives of the Operations and Planning Department, Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, and the European Integration and Project Management Directorate, Defence Policy Sector, also attended the meeting.
The meeting was held at the initiative by the chairman of the Joint Committee and the topic was communication between the Ministry of Defence and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, as well as getting acquainted with the procedures within the Ministry.
During today's meeting, the MoD Secretary Ćatić presented to the members of the Joint Committee the MoD’s scope of work, the role of the Secretariat of the Ministry of Defence, as well as the procedures followed by the Ministry when preparing materials and documents within the competence of this body, especially those referred to the Government and the National Assembly for the decision-making procedure.
All aspects of the communication between this Ministry and the National Assembly and the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee were also discussed.
Representatives of the Bosnian delegation expressed gratitude for the reception and presentation and presented the Joint Committee’s competencies and method of work. In the continuation of the meeting, experiences in this regard were exchanged.
At the end of today's meeting, it was agreed that meetings like this are very useful and that cooperation on these and similar issues should continue in the future.
