Meeting between Minister Stefanović and Deputy Minister of National Defence of Greece
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met today with the Deputy Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic, Nikolaos Chardalias, on the sidelines of the International Defence and Security Exhibition „FEINDEF'21“ in Madrid.
At the beginning of the meeting, Stefanović pointed out that the relations between the two countries are traditionally good, and that he is especially pleased to meet with the delegation of friendly Greece in friendly Spain. He said that the bilateral defence cooperation between Serbia and Greece is highly developed, especially in the military to military and military education segments, emphasizing the importance of joint training and exercises for strengthening the operational capabilities of the Serbian and Greek armed forces.
Stefanović and Chardalias agree that the cooperation has been at a high level so far and that there is still room for its improvement, especially in the field of military technology, through the cooperation of research institutes and defence industries.
The Deputy Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic pointed out that Greece strongly supports the European integration of our country and that he firmly believes that Serbia has a place in the European Union.
Minister Stefanović thanked Greece for its support, noting that EU membership is Serbia’s principal foreign policy goal. He also informed Chardalias about the current situation in our southern province, emphasizing that the temporary Pristina institutions are continuously undermining the stability of the entire region with their unilateral moves.
On behalf of the Minister of National Defence, Chardalias invited Minister Stefanović to pay an official visit to Greece.
