Minister Stefanović meets with General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, talked today to the Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, during the latter’s official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

Minister Stefanović pointed out that Serbia and Hungary cultivate friendly relations, with a high-level political dialogue established, which is marked by frequent meetings between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban.
  Stefanović thanked General Ruszin-Szendi for a large number of Hungarian troops participating in the KFOR mission and expressed his expectation that Major General Ferenc Kajári’s taking over the KFOR Command will contribute to the improvement of overall regional security, but above all the security of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
 
Minister Stefanović expressed satisfaction with the established level of defence cooperation, particularly emphasizing the importance of conducting bilateral and multilateral exercises with both countries’ armed forces participating. He also conveyed our commitment to intensifying military-technical cooperation.
  General Ruszin-Szendi agreed that good neighbourly relations have recently been followed by a noticeable positive trend in the political and military domains. He expressed his expectation that defence cooperation, particularly military to military cooperation, will move upwards in the coming period.
