Successfully Completed International Exercises “Slavic Shield 2021” and “BARS 2021”
Members of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Aerospace Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation successfully concluded exercises “Slavic Shield 2021” and “BARS 2021” that were being executed in the Republic of Serbia this week.
At the exercise “Slavic Shield 2021” the units practiced combat activities and procedures of joint Air Defence group in the operation of protecting a strategic facility against air reconnaissance and firing, while “BARS” exercise was carried out as a practice of mixed fighter aviation crews and helicopter units in execution of combat tasks by day and night.
During the exercise “Slavic Shield”, members of 250th Air Defence Missile Brigade conducted live firing against the targets in the airspace using artillery and missile weapons, and against the targets on the ground using artillery weapons.
All targets were hit, and the members of Air Defence artillery-missile units of the Serbian Armed Forces have once again showed that they are capable to respond to all challenges entailed by modern warfare.
The flying activities of the missed crews at the exercise “BARS” were conducted in the areas of military airfields in Batajnica and Lađevci, and the training ground “Pasuljanske Livade”, and they were marked by tasks of the airspace control and protection, and search and rescue. For the first time, helicopters Mi-35 participated in the Exercise.
