Military helping supply water to affected municipalities
By order of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence, Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, has made a decision to deploy nine SAF water tankers to help distribute water to four municipalities in our country.
The district emergency response headquarters of the Nišava, Moravica and Zlatibor administrative districts have asked the Serbian Armed Forces for help in addressing water supply issues in the municipalities of Gadžin Han, Lučani, Požega and Gornji Milanovac.
Due to the "Rzav" system’s water supply problems, an emergency situation has been declared on the territory of the municipality of Požega, and due to drinking water shortage, the same measures have been taken in one part of the municipality of Lučani and in the entire municipality of Gornji Milanovac. Due to severe drought in the villages of Mali Krčimir and Veliki Krčimir on Mt. Suva Planina, which belong to the territory of the municipality of Gadžin Han, there is a shortage of water for livestock.
The Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will, as always, use all available resources to help the citizens of the Republic of Serbia in overcoming the problems caused by natural disasters.
