Minister Stefanović: In Tokyo, they will compete with all their heart for Serbia
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD received the members of the Sport Unit of the Ministry of Defence who had qualified for the incoming Olympic Games in Tokyo and he wished them a lot of success in this most prestigious sport competition.
With their supreme results civilians Aleksandar Kukolj and Anja Obradović secured their departure for the Olympic Games where they will compete in judo, while Jasmina Milovianović will compete in shooting, Jovana Preković in karate and civilian Tijana Bogdanović will represent our country in taekwondo.
“We serve Serbia always and everywhere! Jovana, Aleksandar, Anja, Jasmina and Tijana are the army that will be a part of Serbian Olympic team in Tokyo, and they will fight to break the record of eight medals won that was set in Rio. This morning, we reminded ourselves of the fact that Serbia has been a proud participant of the Olympic Games since 1912 upon the initiative of no other but Serbian officers. More than an entire century later, these young people, members of our Sport Unit, impatiently wait to depart for Tokyo. The fact that we have them in the ranks of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces is more valuable to us than any medal. They will, like every Serbian soldier, compete with their whole heart for Serbia and give their best to bring victory to our country. In that fight we will wholeheartedly be with them!” wrote Minister Stefanović on his Instagram account @nebojsa__stefanovic.
On this occasion, the ministers presented symbolical gifts for the incoming journey to the members of our Sport Unit who will be part of Serbian Olympic team.
