Meeting of Minister Stefanović with Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovenia Major General Glavaš
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović PhD met Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Slovenia Major General Robert Glavaš who is staying in an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
Minister Stefanović emphasised that the defence cooperation with the Republic of Slovenia was on the rise, which was proven by the Programme for Bilateral Military Cooperation between the two ministries for the year 2021, which encompasseda significant number of concrete activities.
He particularly pointed out to the opportunities for the enhancement of military-to-military cooperation through the participation of members of the Serbian Armed Forces in activities of the Mountain Training Centre of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Slovenia, and the participation of Slovenian representatives in the courses held in the CBRN Training Centre in Kruševac.
Also, Minister Stefanović took the opportunity to express his gratitude for the participation of Slovenian contingent in the KFOR operation in our southern province.
General Glavaš stressed that the Western Balkans is one of the priorities during Slovenian presidency of the European Union and he confirmed the requirement to improve the defence cooperation, especially in the field of military-to-military cooperation, and through participation of members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Slovenia in the Peacekeeping Operations Centre of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Both sides stressed that there existed a good potential for the exchange of experiences from the participation in UN and EU multinational operations.
